Important Update
In light of the recent changes introduced by CCAA, our Club has chosen to adjust and lower our 7 - 14 yr old membership fees. We know times are tough for many families, and we want to ensure our athletes can continue to enjoy competing in the Canterbury Children’s competitions without added financial strain. This step reflects our commitment to supporting our members and adapting to the challenges we all face together.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:    Club Affiliation Update – Effective June 2025

We wish to inform all members and the community that as of June 2025, our Club is no longer affiliated with the Mid-South Canterbury Sub Centre (MSCSCA), and are are now officially affiliated directly with Canterbury.

This decision was not taken lightly and voted on and passed unanimously at our Annual General Meeting.

What this means for members:

All Club members remain affiliated through Athletics New Zealand and Canterbury, and while athletes are still welcome to compete in Mid-South Canterbury events, please note:

  • You will not be eligible to earn points or trophies at any of these events.
  • The Club will not be associated officially in any way, and so will not be marketing these events through Social media or our website.

If you would like further information or clarification about this decision, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Club Committee.

Thank you for your continued support.

Run Jump Throw

Picture

Run Jump Throw will be restarting on 24th September 2025, and will be held every Wednesday from 4pm till 5pm with Have a Go Evenings on Friday Nights.

This programme is offered to club members aged 6 - 10 year olds of all abilities and uses modified equipment and games to help maximise participation and enjoyment.

The programme uses a bottom-up approach to teach skills and adaptations needed for athletics movements – so participants can learn the necessary fundamental skills and basic movement patterns in an inclusive, positive and supportive environment, and continue to refine their skills through our athletics club following on after they leave the programme.

Participants will learn, grow their confidence and be challenged at their own pace.

     * Venue:   TGHS,  Martins Field, Timaru
     * Time:      4pm - 5pm
     * Dates:    September - December

Athletics Needs You!

VOLUNTEERS & OFFICIALS MAKE IT HAPPEN!

As a community we are dependant on volunteer helpers and officials, without whom we are unable to run regional, school, inter-club or even club events.

New Zealand Athletics along with Athletics Canterbury offer an official's training programme, which can be done either in person or online.

Participating in these programmes will help you better understand the basic rules of each event, and are open to everyone - including parents, caregivers, older athletes and coaches.
